Jitterbug handsets are all about the bottom line of wireless calling and now they come up with phones that will bring delight to every lonely old geriatric who has kids living far away in another town or state. JitterBug Dial is has large numeric keys that are backlit for that night trip to the bathroom. The JitterBug OneTouch does away with the traditional keypad altogether replacing it with three big buttons.
Both phones are operated by GreatCall in California and come with live a Jitterbug operator service available nationwide. Each are priced at $147 excluding a $35 set-up fee. Monthly plans range from $15 (30 minutes of use) to $40 (for 300 minutes). Voice is extra. Apparently, JitterBug phones are not meant for your average cellphone user. Heavy users will automatically be given the Dial model , which can be pre-programmed with up to 15 emergency numbers with more numbers available through the operator.
The JitterBug phones are manufactured by Samsung and are hearing-aid compatible. Taken from The Enquirer.
