Wirefly, a leading comparison shopping site (we have our own version in a smaller scale), have just come out with their year-end’s list of the most popular handsets in America. Here’s the Wirefly’s rationale:
Wirefly has great insight into cell phone trends and more importantly, consumer buying behavior in the wireless market today. Wirefly.com has increasingly become a bellwether for consumer trends in wireless, as tens of thousands of people purchase cell phones and rate plans on Wirefly every month after comparing hundreds of phone models from all the major carriers.
Note that there are redundant models like the RAZR, which the three biggest wireless providers hand out to subscribers as if they were free – this is an entirely new set of list from Wirefly, which I’m also posting at the bottom. The RAZR’s popularity seems to be enjoying a very protracted trend; it was also Wirefly’s #1 in 2005.
