While Samsung Galaxy S patrons continue to wait for their Froyo update to become available, Acer Liquid E users, on the other hand, can finally rejoice as the Android 2.2 update for their chosen Android handset is now finally available. Unfortunately, it’s not available over-the-air. You have to download it to your PC to install the firmware update to your Acer smartphone. It’s a bit cumbersome, but hey, at least you now get to enjoy the benefits of Android 2.2 on your Acer Liquid E which is what most Android 2.1 phone users in Canada are still waiting for.
To download the Froyo update, just head on over to the Acer Canada website, click on Service & Support, then go to the Download Center (All Products). Choose Smart Handheld in the Select Product Family, then click on Liquid, and finally select Liquid E. Pick Android 2.2 Froyo in the Operating System, then click the OS tab. A Froyo update for both Rogers and Fido will be presented there. Got it?
