Samsung has announced that it has developed an LCD screen that can show two different images on each side of the LCD screen. Previous attempts shows a reverse image at the back of what is shown in the front of the screen. The dual-image screen uses Samsung’s patented Amorphous Silicon Gate (ASG), which can increase the number of TFT gates without increasing the size of the driver integrated circuits.
Needless to say, this will improve future Samsung handsets slim factor, especially the recently announced dual-faced models. Aving has these specs:
The new double-sided LCD is 2.6mm thick and 2.22” wide, with QVGA (240 x 320 pixel) resolution, and has brightness values of 250 nits for the front and 100 nits for the rear display.
If you want a closer look, you can attend the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas beginning January 8.
