Nokia’s Take on the Mobile Future

This is one of two videos shown by Nokia during the Nokia World Conference a few days ago.

Nokia’s vision is of course heavily influenced by Nokia itself and what its engineers can do today. This is how Tero Ojanperä, chief technology officer, describes one function of the future mobile phone:

“A navigation device in 2010 will be similar to the N95, but it will deduce information from your calendar, then input the navigation and take you to the place you need to go.”

Overall the video looks realistic. The user interface will definitely improve incorporating ever more complex capabilities. What we cannot know is if mobile will ever match or even surpass the power and usability of laptops and PCs.
