Skyfire iPhone app sold outAfter months of waiting, the Skyfire web browser is now available at the App Store. Well, sort of. It was initially, but now, it’s nowhere to be found. What happened to it? According to Apple, Skyfire is no longer listed because it’s sold out already. Sold out? That’s not exactly a common phrase you’d encounter when it comes to the App Store, so what gives? Well, apparently, the demand was so overwhelming that Skyfire’s servers couldn’t keep up thus forcing them to regulate app purchases for the iPhone app.

Here’s what Skyfire CEO Jeffrey Glueck had to say about the situation:

Skyfire has historically generated high demand for its browser products but nothing like this. It was hard to predict consumer demand since this was our first paid app, but we were blown away by the demand and sales.

Just to give you an idea of how well received this app is, it managed to become the top grossing app in just a matter of hours. Not to worry though. Skyfire will indeed be back at the App Store though no ETA was given as to when the next batch will be released. For more on this, you can check out their blog post here.

The Skyfire iPhone web browser is priced at $2.99, which makes their rise in the standings even more amazing, and can playback certain Flash-based content on the iPhone thanks to the help of their servers. Hopefully, the wait won't be that long for their grand return to the App Store.
