Samsung revealed a trifecta of Ultra offerings yesterday at the ITU Telecom World 2006 in Hong Kong. It has to be said, as far as this ongoing Asian tech event is concerned, the slim king of mobile devices rules. Samsung’s Ultra Messaging is only 0.464 inches thick and to really have an idea of the rest of this smartphone’s dimension, you have to get a big hand to hold it. If it’s going for the smallest QWERTY phone, it’s got it in my book.
The Samsung Ultra Messaging i600 is an HSDPA, UMTS and quad-band GSM device running Windows 5.0. It’s actually the first HSDPA smartphone, so podcasting and reading RSS feeds is definitely in the “workable menu.” Besides HSDPA, it will have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR. Cool features like an MP3 player and voice-recognition will turn a few heads in the bus and narrow eyes to get a good look at the little thing in your hand.
Other Features: push email, 2.3″ 65K TFT LCD screen, 1.3 MP camera, a sub video camera, 64 MB Ram, 128B ROM, MicroSD Slot. All three Ultra releases will be available early 2007 for the Asian and European markets.
