The LG KG330 is a candy bar chocolate phone. Not only that, it’s got a silver piping of some sort that they’ve got to bury somewhere in the casing. The Scroll Wheel Navigation Button looks like it might have come out of a screw driver or a monkey wrench. It should work as smoothly as the one found on your mouse, and it could be useful if the phone itself can handle large documents in Excel or Word; otherwise, even with added buttons, I don’t see the sense of a one-dimensional scroll wheel instead of a trackball.
The screen is a 2-inch TFT LCD screen with 260k colors. The phone will have a 1.3 MP camera, a MP3, MPEG4 media player, Bluetooth 1.2, 32MB internal memory and a microSD slot. The Bluetooth 1.2 will have an added use via the “Buddy Room” application of the phone, which allows users to talk to other users via a Bluetooth connection.
This Chocolate is obviously a mid-range offering and the most basic both in design and specs that we’ve featured at cellphones.ca. It’s available in Europe and will come out for Asian consumers in December. The Bluetooth “Buddy Room” real-time messaging, though, is fancy on the same scale as an integrated GPS. It looks like a lower-end Chocolate and it’s not available in North America. Too many Chocolates going around at the same time may prove to be a bad thing.
