Here’s an update on the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate which has yet to be released by Rogers.

Samsung Galaxy S Captivate

Barring any delays, they’ve just announced over at Redboard that they’ll have it ready to roll out by next week. Officially announced back in August by Rogers, the Samsung Captivate is their variant of the Galaxy S Android phone. Similar to the Samsung Vibrant on Bell and SaskTel, the Captivate sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 5-megapixel AF camera with 720p HD video recording, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, HSDPA connectivity, 16GB of internal memory, and runs on a 1GHz processor with Android 2.1 as its OS.

It’s been available for pre-order since late last month though Rogers has yet to announce when it will become available. So, this latest bit of news should be a welcome development especially for those holding out on this particular Android phone.
