The Samsung SPH-P9000 is an Ev-Do phone with WiMax (IEEE 802.16) support, a cable/DSL wireless replacement and a Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11) alternative. It weighs 560 grams which you can be pretty sure is the heaviest PDA you’d ever have heard of. My guess is, it’s a pocket PC and not a laptop because of the absence of Wi-Fi connectivity. The 1.3 megapixel camera also makes a good cause for the PDA identity, but then this Samsung has 30 gigs of hard disk internal storage. And not to forget the most important detail: it makes voice calls.
You can fold the butterfly-wings keyboard when you’re not using it, and at this mode you’ll be hard put convincing anyone that this is a PDA and not a tablet PC. If it’s not obvious to you yet, this Samsung is a Korea-only device and won’t work at all with GSM and UMTS networks. Read more about it here.
