After the grand return of GV Mobile + to the App Store, the latest buzz on the internet is that a Google-made Google Voice app will soon be available for the iPhone as well.

iPhone Google Voice

According to Techcrunch, “a source close to Google” has revealed that an official Google Voice app for iOS has already been approved by Apple, and that it’s “on its way to the iPhone in the next few weeks.” It sounds plausible enough considering the recent changes Apple made in their approval process paving the way for Google Voice apps, but the report also goes on to say that Google still “needs to revamp the application to work with the iPhone 4 and iOS’s multitasking capabilities” which contradicts the earlier statement of it being approved already given that apps should work first with the current iOS version prior to getting the nod from Apple.

So, is this fact or fiction? As much as we'd like to say this is legit news, it’s still too early to say at this point in time. For now, just treat this as a heads-up that an official Google Voice app might one day be available in the App Store.
