MetroPCS has officially flipped the switch on their brand new LTE network in Las Vegas, and along with the launch of their new 4G network, they’re also debuting the Samsung Craft.

MetroPCS Samsung CraftWe’ve seen a couple of 4G handsets in the past, namely the Samsung Epic 4G and HTC Evo 4G, but both of these are WiMax-based mobile phones. The Samsung Craft, for its part, is regarded as the world’s first LTE-based 4G handset though, I have to admit, it’s a bit underwhelming especially when compared to the two phones I just mentioned earlier. Putting its 4G capabilities aside, the Samsung Craft comes with just standard features you’d normally expect from the average modern day messaging phone - 3.2-megapixel camera with flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD card, full QWERTY keypad. On the good side though, it does sport an AMOLED touchscreen, and as an added treat for Trekkies, ships with a 2GB microSD card preloaded with the latest Star Trek movie. The MetroPCS Samsung Craft is retailing for $299 contract-free after a $50 instant savings is applied. Interested? You can check it out here.
