There’s a bunch of Android phones out in the market today, but I seriously doubt that any of them can claim they’re as tough as the newly announced Motorola Defy. This new Motorola Android phone packs a Gorilla Glass strengthened 3.7-inch display making it resistant to dust and water as well as impervious to scratch and impact. It’s also IP67 certified allowing it to be submersible up to a meter of water for roughly half an hour.
Unfortunately, the rest of its specs aren’t as impressive as its build. While it does come equipped with a 5-megapixel autofocus camera complete with flash and image stabilization, Bluetooth, WiFi (b/g/n) connectivity, and dual microphones for noise cancellation, the silver lining here is that it’s only powered by an 800Mhz processor and runs on Android 2.1, a stark contrast to its contemporaries most of which boast of a 1Ghz processor with Android 2.2.
Price isn’t known yet, but it is confirmed to be headed for Europe for a Q4 debut just like the Motorola Milestone 2. Hopefully, this won’t be a European market exclusive. For more info, you can check out the Motorola Defy here.
