Earlier this week Verizon Wireless released the Chocolate phone from LG, a device that could very well give the iPod some competition.
It includes a music player, a 1.3 MP camera, Bluetooth, a control wheel, and more in a sleek slider format with jet black paint and red buttons.
So while not chocolate covered, it resembles the shape of a chocolate bar.
It will be available from Verizon Wireless for $149.99 after a $50 instant online rebate and 2-year customer contract.
Over 1 million Chocolate units have already sold worldwide – with 2 global design awards.

this phone is awesome! those people who say that there isnt any speaker phone are totally wrong. just press the camera button when ur talking then its the speaker. some people just are too incapable of finding these things out for themselves. and hello? the touch sensitive buttons? just go to the menu and change the sensitivity to low. geez! this phone rocks and people are just too picky and want to find the “perfect phone” well there aint any, all phones fave pros and cons. some just have more cons than the others. THOSE are the ones not to get.
GET THE CHOCOLATE its a great phone, way better than the motorola razor or however u spell that
cool phone :)
hey, ya the chocolate phone is really good. i have a question though. I downloaded ring tones but when i set it as ringtone it only works for people who call me that arent on my directory list.. its a dumb ringtone for the people that usually call me and it wont change,, someone helpp me please
Can someone tell me the advantages and disadvantages.
and also can u watch movie on it?
Hi. I have had the chocolate phone for about two months now, and I must say that I probably know the pros and cons just as well as the next person. ^^
Here is a brief overview, for anybody who is interested. :)
The Pros…
It’s sleek, it’s shiny, and the sounds it makes are amazing. It’s very elegant and sophisticated, and I have to agree, the iPhone is looking at one
hell of a competition. It’s great to bring to school, to the mall, and even to work, because of it’s really beautiful designs. It works well and
is LOADED with amazing features. It is both a designer phone and a tech-loaded one. You can change it and customize it any way you want, and the
touch screen is built in very well. The camera and video both work amazingly well, and the camera is quite clear (more clear than any other camera
I’ve seen so far on other cell phones.) Also, the Bluetooth is quite amazing. LG Chocolate also comes with a cellphone charm that you can use to
clean your cellphone with…VERY handy and VERY sleek and decorative in a simple and elegant kind of way. You also get other things, such as a
calculator, a world-wide clock, and so forth. There are different languages you can choose from, too, to make the transition of cellphones easier
for any foreign users. ^^
The Cons…(thank you so much to ‘red’ for bringing this up)
You have to wait about 5-15 seconds after you turn it on to make a call. In fact, most phones do this, so it’s not much of a con, but yeah. Just
give it a few seconds, it doesn’t take that long at all to find a network and load. The other con is that many claim there aren’t speakers. YES,
there ARE speakers. Just because you can’t go through the trouble of fiddling around with what you paid about 200 bucks (or more) for, doesn’t mean
there aren’t certain features on the phone. Just press the camera button during the call for speaker, and if you find the touch screen annoying,
turn the sensitivity down a notch. Problems? I think not.
Anyway, for all of thsoe people who are eager/interested in buying this phone, I’m saying this in the perspective of a realistic phone user: Get It.
It won’t be a disappointment, and others will be in awe. LG Chocolate is worthwhile! :)
I am really interested in getting that phone. Some of my friends say it’s a stupid phone and i should not buy it but i really like it, so i will take a try.
The phone is so sophisticated and elegant.

I love my chocolate phone, i was just wondering if anyone knows if there is any way to put music from an mp3 download and turn it ito a ring tune? i heard you could but i have no idea how, also i can’t find where it says to lower sensitivity!

This phone is great and is availible in Canada.
I live in AB and have it through telus.
It is about $50 CAN with a 3 year contract.
I am getting a chcolate phone soon but which color should i get!!! PLZ HELP!! And tell me why!!
PLEASE answer this one please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanxxs
What colors does the Chocolate come in? I reallly want to get one but I need a pretty color. Right now I have the much-hated Pink RAZR v3 and switching is just a need. I’m not getting it for another year or so (I’m switching from my mom’s T-Mo. contract in April to my dad’s AT&T after that then to my grandma’s Verizon in February) so maybe they’ll release better colors is no good ones are out now…?
hey im getting my LG chocolate tommorow my friends say it breaks very easily but im gonna give it a chance
its $59.95 Canadian but its for prepaid
The phone looks cool and I dont reall think there is any down part to it except that it might break easily
Thanks,
I’m just reading all these reviews and I’m shocked that everyone is saying so many wonderful things about the Chocolate phone. I got mine almost a year ago and I’ve had nothing but problems with it from the start. To begin, the reception is terrible. I’m guessing because there is no antenna…I’m not positive though…all I know is that I constantly drop calls, even when I’m in an area where everyone else seems to have good reception. Second, the mouthpiece barely works. When I call people they are constantly asking me to repeat myself because my voice sounds muffled (a problem I have never had with any other cell phone). In an attempt to remedy the problem I began using the headset, which stopped working about a month ago (when I talk into it the person on the other end can’t hear anything). The battery life has been gradually getting worse, despite all the charging/battery draining advice the woman at the store gave me to keeping the battery life long, the maximum amount of time it stays alive for me now is 15 hours. The final problem happened on the weekend, when I unplugged it from the charger (fairly gently mind you) a piece of hardware came out with it. I had to send it back to LG today to get it repaired. One of my friends has a Chocolate phone also, and she has complained to me about the battery life problem and the mouthpiece problem.
I’m not writing this to bash the Chocolate phone, it’s very possible that there are some Chocolate phones out there that haven’t suffered the same fate as mine… and besides, it is a beautiful phone. I just wanted to give future buyers a heads up that not all Chocolate phones are what they are cracked up to be.
ok im wantin to get a Chocolate In Blue Ice..i was wonderin is it better since it new or r there any major problems it….
flame,
same guts although i think there was a minor firmware update which fixed a few of the glitches.
im getting a chocolate but ive heard it is really breakable is that true because i need a durable phone
would be a good idea to get the Blue Ice cuz i need the phone to last me 2 years!!!
wow! my sister has one and she thinks it is the best! i’m getting one in 5 days and i am so excited that i can’t sleep at night = – )
hey i was just wondering what is so great about the chocolate phone i have heard of bad and good things about it i want to know why it is a great phone to have
heyy and yes it does work in canada b-cuz my friend has one and it works in canada ..cuz she lives in canada lol ya.
worst cell phone ever. battery is connected to phone with 2 pieces of tape, as the battery pops out otherwise. battery will no longer charge. hard to text with because buttons are so small. people find it hard to hear me… do not recommend the chocolate at all!
umm no this phone is full of CRAP ‘ i just qot it less than 2weeks aqoo and i can HEAR NOTHING . no one can hear me when i call… and i cant hear anyone or a dial tone. the camera is bigger crap.. horrible quality .. just a waste of money, less man made creation ..
