Thank you, KDDI.
Apple will be hard pressed to make anything this pretty, and this functional as they venture into the world of wireless phones.
The “neon” will probably work on KDDI CDMA networks exclusively, which means I will have to move to Japan.
I’ve been saving the sale of my soul for something really great, and I think I’ve found it: One Neon please.
MP3, Video, Video Playback, boat loads of storage space, and sexier than a hottie with a Mensa membership.
…if I can’t hack this thing to work on CDMA in the US, I’m seriously moving to Japan.
I’m still waiting on a translation of specs for the phone. I’ll post them when I get them.

haven’t read yet… if you find a way to import this phone to america and hack it for service please share.
did you found an kddi neon? I really want one too…!
Sadly Au/KDDI phone cannot work in the United States and Canada. Neither can NTT DoCoMo phones although if you can get one of those unlocked it will work on Europe’s 3G UMTS networks (and believe me, you want them badly http://www.nttdocomo.com/features/fomaspring2007gallery/index.html )
SoftBank Mobile phones, on the other hand, can be unlocked and usually have tri-band GSM (no 850 MHz band so Cingular/Rogers users will suffer outside cities) http://mb.softbank.jp/mb/en/product/lineup/index.html and eBay sometimes has one of these phones up there unlocked.
So if there are any SoftBank Mobile phones you’d like you can probably get your hands on them. Au/KDDI never-ever and NTT DoCoMo only if you have good connections, and are willing to live with only UMTS WCDMA/HSDPA coverage OUTSIDE of the US/Canada. Yep. The Japanese basically hate all of us.
This one makes sence “One’s first step in wisdom is to kuesstion everything – and one’s last is to come to terms with everything.”
