Here’s some good news for folks out there looking to get an iPhone and want save a few bucks in the process. In preparation for the arrival of the iPhone 4, Telus has lowered the 3-yr contract price of their 16GB iPhone 3G S to just $99 from its original price of $199.99. The rest of the pack also got a price cut. The 32GB model is now $149 while the refreshed 16GB and 32GB iPhone 3G S models are retailing for $49 and $99 respectively.
Don’t mind getting a refreshed 8GB iPhone 3G? You can get one for free when you sign up on a 3-yr contract with Telus. Interested? You can find more about Telus’ iPhone offerings by heading on over here.
Bell and Rogers haven’t lowered their iPhone 3G S prices yet, but Mobilesyrup just got a tip that they too will follow suit with their own set of price adjustments, on June 17th to be exact. The 16GB iPhone 3G S from Bell will soon retail for just $99.95 while the price of the 32GB model and 8GB iPhone 3G will be lowered to $149.95 and $49.95 respectively on a 3-yr contract basis. Rogers, for their part, will follow Telus’ new pricing scheme for the iPhone 3G S while their 8GB iPhone 3G will be lowered to match Bell’s offering.
With these new lowered on-contract price of the iPhone 3G S, the question now is – are you still saving up your money for the new and improved iPhone 4 which is scheduled to arrive next month in Canada or would you rather just get yourself an iPhone 3G S?

This article is moronic. The carriers have NOT reduced their price for the 3GS. It’s still $799, same as always. The only thing that has happened is that they’ve increased their incentive for you to lock in to another jail sentence.
This blog does consumers a disservice by describing this type of gimmick as a price reduction.
@ midtoad: you should go back to school and learn how to read properly. it clearly states there that they lowered the on-contract price of the iphone 3g s. NOT the price.
Okay… so by lowering the contract price.. can someone help me out by exactaly what that means??
Also it’s saying stuff about bell and rogers but nothing about just what telus is doing… or where to get them with what prices….??
