I got a brand new 60G iPod with video.
Did anyone get a sweet new celly?
Cell phones are tough to give as Christmas presents. They can be more of a burden than a gift, unless you are planning on paying the monthly bill, and being responsible for the contract.
(I gave a cell phone as a gift three years ago, and I’m still paying the bill… granted, it’s for my little sister who is in college…)
It is possible to give a cell phone without service attached. The easiest way to do that is to buy one directly from the manufacturer. Just make sure the phone is compatible with the service your loved one already has, or with service that is available in their area. (Not all cell service providers are available in all areas.)
You will shell out twice as much as you would if you got the phone from the service provider, but at least you aren’t stuck with the contract.
Merry Christmas!
