Google Maps Navigation

Google has just announced that they’re expanding their free Google Maps Navigation service to more countries including Canada. Apart from the Northern neighbor of the US, Google Maps Navigation is now also available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland. This free navigation service is included in Google Maps v4.2, and not only gives users free turn-by-turn navigation, but also Street View capability as well as Search by Voice functionality too.

You can find and download Google Maps v4.2 at the Android Market. To use this, you should be living in one of the supported countries, and your phone must be running on Android 1.6 or higher. This will certainly be a worthy alternative to Nokia's Ovi Maps navigation service which the Finnish company decided to offer up for free earlier this year.
