Apple just released the Gold Master candidate of iOS 4 (aka iPhone OS 4.0) to developers, and as expected, an iPhone hacker has already managed to jailbreak it within a day of its availability.
The guy responsible for this feat is msft.guy who has also posted the jailbroken iOS 4 GM package online for use with PwnageTool for anyone who wishes to try this out. Feeling gutsy today? To substantiate his achievement, he has also come out with this video to prove to skeptics out there that he has indeed been able to jailbreak the newly released iOS 4.0 GM candidate.
As bit of a reminder, this isn’t an official iOS 4 jailbreak so do proceed with caution if you’re planning to use this on your iPhone. We don’t know when the iPhone Dev Team will roll out their new set of iOS 4 jailbreak and unlock tools, but there has been an assurance made by Dev Team member muscelnerd over at Twitter that an iPhone 4 unlock will be released this month.
