Square, the company behind the innovative mobile credit card payment solution for the iPhone, has finally gone live with their services.
Those interested in trying out this mobile payment solution can download the app for free at the App Store. Aside from the iPhone, they’ve also got a version that works on the iPod Touch, Apple’s latest baby, the iPad, and the Android platform as well. What about the card reader? Well, the good news is that they’re also giving it away for free. Square is also foregoing the usually fees such as monthly charges, contracts, and any minimum monthly requirements. They will, however, charge you 2.5% from every card swipe you make (3.5% for keyed-in transactions – card not present) plus $0.15, but that’s still pretty reasonably compared to what other company’s are charging.
