Just as previously reported, Fido has launched this month the Sony Ericsson Naite and Motorola Renew+, two new phones that will appeal to tree huggers in the country.

Fido Sony Ericsson Naite

The Sony Ericsson Naite is part of the company’s eco-friendly GreenHeart line of phones which is made of recycled plastic and colored with waterborne paint. As far as specs go, it sports a 2.2-inch QVGA display, 2-megapixel camera, HSPA connectivity, FM radio, mp3 player, and 100MB internal memory expandable via microSD card. It also come loaded with a Facebook and Twitter app. The Sony Ericsson Naite is retailing for as little as $25 on a 2-yr contract and is priced at $150 on prepaid or outright purchase. You can check it out here.

Fido Motorola Renew+

The Motorola Renew+, meanwhile, is an upgraded version of its namesake, the Motorola Renew. It’s still a green phone but looks a lot more sophisticated than its predecessor, and now also comes equipped with a VGA camera. It’s available for just $15 on a 2-year contract and retails for $65 outright purchase. Read more about it here.

There’s still no sign though of the BlackBerry Curve 8520, Samsung Gravity, and LG Etna 2 (GW300) also mentioned in the same report, but with these two eco-friendly phones now official on Fido, we’re optimistic that the rest of the pack won’t be far behind.
