The LG 2000 added to the Fido line-up

yeh. fido was slow to get this one on their site. But according to my contact there, it was officially available as of August 3rd.

LG website says there’s two colors, but Fido only show one.

It comes in blue only so far. Regular price is $225. Unfortunately data cable is not incuded in the package.

anybody got some review or anything else on this phone ? I just ordered a lot of them ( 85 pieces ) for my Jamaican Cell phone Route but can’t find any review or feedback

hi i just got this phone yesterday its amazing its easy to use and loaded with different (really cool) features and the connection is very good the internet is fast and it even comes with a speakerphone…over all this phone is amazing

I just got this last week. Still waiting for better support on fido’s side for this particular phone. They might want to wait before all the infrastructure around the support before releasing a new phone. No official ringtones support. Very limited game support. Come on! I want to give you money Fido, but you just wont let me ;D

Hi, I’m hoping to get the phone in a couple days, but I was wondering-does the phone have something that resembles a sort of loophole for a string (from a cellphone accessory keychain) to be looped through?

I am trying to decide between this and the Nokia 6020 from Fido. I’m returning my shitty Siemens C65 on Monday and wondered if anyone has any useful review or can point me to one on this phone? I really need to make the right choice as I do not have a house phone and rely on my cell. thanks for any help!

Hey guys i was wondering if u could help me out. I’m planning on getting this cell phone with a Fido plan. The gr8 thing is if i sign a plan i get the LG 2000 for $0 dollars, this plan seems too good to be true and so does the phone. I mean the plan says that its $25 dollars a month, there are obvios the “hidden fees” that aren’t so hidden like the system access fee which is 6.95 per month, then the 911 call is 50 cents, and there is the tax aswell. It also says somthing called “and other additional charges not included” which are probably extras like caller display etc (correct me if im wrong though)yeah so all in all this plan seems to be amazing…since im a first time buyer of a cell phone i just wanted to ask u guys to see if its at least legitamite. and someting extra it includes is call waiting call fwding and confrence calls. there is also unlimited incoming local calls, unlimited instant, picture and text messages and its free for 6 months. 1,000 evening and weekend minutes weekdays from 7 pm to 8 am and from friday 7pm to mon 8 am. and 100 weekday minutes (tell me if u guys think thats enough because i know some plans have unlimited evening and weekeneds…)anyways if u could just e-mail me back or maybe write somthing on this chat forum that would be very helpfull thanks! rleun048@uottawa.ca

Just got the phone today…course have to wait 5 days to actually get it in my hands…but was wondering if anyone has been able to locate the data sync cable for it yet?

just got my phone today. love it! even my frnds love it and my brother envies me. lol. cute ringtones, good camera, pretty design….still learning more abt it, but i love it so far!

I have this phone for over a week now. So far I am really happy with it. At first I was really disappointed that it does not have email messanging in it but then i realized that I can send e-mails through the MMS menu. It’s a gr8 phone for the money and to answer one of the earlier questions it does have a loophle for a wristband. Unfortunatly fido still does not support it neither do any other sites that I looked at so I can’t seem to find an mp3 ringtone that will work.

Those of you who are looking to buy a data cable should check out eBay. They have lots of LG data cables for sale with software on a cd. It’s not gonna say that the cable is campatible with lg2000 because the phone has just come out and i don’t think any carriers in US have so you’ll have to be looking for a data cable for similar lg phones. I think if it works with lg1400 it should work on this one too, don’t quote me on that one tho ;-) Overall great phone.

Just found this and have had my LG2000 for a week. Also hubby has the Nokia 6020. Reception is good, great phone. Can’t find ringtone downloads though and do want a cable, so if anyone finds one or knows of one that is compatible. So this one uses MP3 downloads for music I take it? Still learning. The Nokia is good too, it’s a little more intuitive menu wise. Still like the LG2000, cuter I think…

It’s supposed to play mp3 tones but so far I didn’t seem to find any website that supports this phone. I ordered a data cable for this phone so we’ll see how that goes. Apperently you can order a cable from Fido for 40 bucks. But you can find one on ebay. Apperently it’s exactly same cable as they use for the 1400 as well as most Telus LG phones.

Ok, so I did get the phone and am pleased with it – HOWEVER, despite having decent camera quality – has no one noticed you only have 300 KB of memory to take pictures? THat is just ridiculous, as unhappy as I was with my Siemens C65 … atleast there was like 10 MB on that thing … Happy with the phone but SOOOOO not happy about the crazy-low memory for pictures. 10 pictures and im full! and then … ofcourse – have to go buy a data cable.

I bought this phone tonight…I got that 0$ plus a 100$ futureshop giftcard thing. I handed down my old fido to a friend, so I’ve got the same plan as before, only an extra 100$ and a new phone. I haven’t made up my mind if I love it or not yet. I prefer my other phone, a motorola, just because it is thinnner.
One quick question though, how do you turn speakerphone on?? This is the main reason I bought the phone and I can’t seem to find how to activate it, I’ve made calls and seen if I can find it in the in call menu and I can’t find anything about it in the manual either.

Bought a pair of these at FS yesterday with both on 2 year term contract on 25$ plan and went home with 2 free phones and 200$ gift certificate!

Nice phone! Have looked of all other providers as Telus, Bell Mobiliy and Rogers but Fido came with the best price and plan and billing at seconds too! And the best for first 6 months, unlimited ncoming/outgoing local calls! LG 2000 has camera, game and so many features packed in this cool device!

Now, I’m looking for custom face-plate! Does anyone know where to buy them!

Also, does any one know how to change the name and phone number on the cover of the phone! Need to know which one is mine since both of them are in blue color, don’t want each time to open to see the different wallpaper!

I’ve had this phone for a week, and I’m disappointed. The factory ringtones and wallpapers are terrible. There are no downloads from Fido and no software suite to sync a data cable, so I am stuck. Fido and LG were no help. The other problem is the display on the clamshell, very tacky and too dim.

I think this is a really good phone overall. The only things they could of done better was more memory for camera picture, louder speakerphone and i deffinetly think the biggest problem is that i can’t find any Mp3 DOWNLOADS! Who can help me, does any one no anything i don’t? Let me know guys. Thanx

Since a month i got a LG200 in baby blue(the new color), which is really cute! But two days later it didn’t work anymore. I don’t know why, so i returned it back to exchange another one, but it was the only one. And now i’am still waiting for it!!! And they told me that if they couldn’t get any(cuz a lot of body wants it), i have to choose another model.

Ok i got this phone looks awsome and works great. One BIG problem for me is the contacts..my other phones you could put 3 numbers under one persons name..here i cant seem to figure a way to add another number to a name. I dont want 3 different entries for one name…anyone know if its possible on this phone?

konradx, u gotta save addresses to your cell phone memory, not the SIM card memory, to do that. check your manual.

Okay, I have a problem sending pictures. Everytime I send one, I just get a blank screen. Anyone have any ideas? I’ve tried a couple of different e-mail addresses thinking it might be some kind of block on the address but it was the same think on both addresses. Text will come through but pictures will not. HELP!

Kondrax, I recently stumbled across freeringers.net, you have to pay 7$ once and thats it, you can have I think 9 numbers to which you can send mp3s, wallpapers and a lot of stuff, I’d say give it a shot and see. I’m using it for a while now and it works great.

I tried to download the ringtones or games but it did not work or say that is is not compatible with the LG2000. I call tech support this morning, they have to set something in their system so you can download them. I have not try them, I went there but it looks like they are not free and you have to pay them. So, I did not go further.

My step-daughter had this phone for two weeks – already having problems. Fido agreed to replace it with one that has been reconditioned. They all ready have reconditioned phones/
Try to buy the data cable – Fido is NOT supporting this piece of hardware. They will NOT order it for you.

It is true that Fido doesn’t offer the best support. However, they are getting more effeciant as they have merged with Rogers. The LG 2000 is great for those who just need a simple camera phone. It’s not a phone to customize or hold a great quantity of pictures or ringtones in. If you aren’t picky, go for it. It’s design is great, built to last long. Soung quality is great too. I have but one problem, the camera seems to take fuzy pictures. Do the LG 2000 and LG C2000 have the same features, pros and cons? Or are they two completely different phones?

This comment is to Hot Phone – I have had the SAME problem. I complained to Cingular and they told me all cell phones get hot … did she think I had not owned any cell phones previously?Additionally, I was in the grocery store a few days ago and the phone actually shocked my ear! It was a definite jolt! Last night I had it by my bed – it was already fully charged so it was not plugged in. The phone was set to a low ring tone and no vibration. Within 15 minutes of being set on this glass top, it buzzed and shook but there was no phone call, text message, notification of voicemail, and, again did I mention that it was
not on vibrate! I am definitely an unhappy customer!

OK k well I bought the phone and yes, there is a loop where you can put a key chain or whatever you want through it. I think this phone is amazing. You can get rintones off of it you just go on My Sounds and then there’s two stuff you can go no after which are Download Ringtones and Sounds if you want ringtones you go on Download Ringtones and it just leads to whatever you need.

I ordered lg c2000 from Cingular, early Dec. Called them this a.m. to return it, because I can’t download any pictures to PC. The man told me the usb cables for Motorola 551 and 220 would be compatible. Does anyone know if this is true???? If I purchased one of those cables, could I download my pictures to my PC? Thanks

I dont have the phone… Im researching to see if its worth buying. This is what Ive found so far: Fido calls it LG 2000 while Telus calls it LG 200.. Fido offers unlocked w/sim that includes one gsm freq (1800)offered in blue and icy aqua…. Telus locked with no GSM freq offered in red and blue

Pros
its relatively inexpensive
0.3 megapixel cam.. which is more than enough for a camera phone.
its lighter than the average phone….

Not a great talk time
External display is not colour supported.. possibly a blue ? background light
confusion about the availability of data cable
a few unhappy customers .. possibly more than the normal share .. that took the time to post messages.

Conclusions thus far….. If you are shopping around and plan on joining the Fido family, I recommend the Sony Ericsson z520a. slightly more expensive but a lot more capable than this phone… dual colour display, greater memory… quad band with extensive gsm and CDMA, bluetooth compatible,

This phone is a decent phone for the budget conscious customer. Face plates make it more exciting and possibly more appealing to the younger generations…

an extra 45 gets you a much better Fido phone.

As far as Telus goes, if you are thinking budget, go with the talk away motorola bundle.. the phone is practically free. with no contract

about 6-8 weeks ago, i sent freeringers.net a money order for $7.99. I was supposed to recieve via email instructions and a log in code, etc. i have recieved nothing but the feeling that i was scammed. i did a bit of research and the address i mailed it to is a ups store. the address said suite 150. i’m guessing it’s more like box 150 and they are now 8 dollars richer. i am holding out for a responce still, maybe they forgot to check their mail.haha. i would really like to enjoy their service, if there is a service. however, i don’t want to spend even more $ doing it on-line when i have had no luck thus far. totally bummed with boring ringers.
