Google Nexus OneThe Nexus One isn’t available yet in Canada, but for those who just couldn’t restrain themselves and got one through friends in the US, read on as we’ve got news for you. Google has just announced their first OTA update for the Nexus One and has started rolling it out today. Most notable in the update is the inclusion of multitouch capabilities. It also comes with an updated version of Google Maps, version 4.3 to be exact, which features starred items, synchronization, night mode in Maps Navigations, and search suggestions based on the user’s personal maps history. Google Goggles is also there as well as a fix to address 3G connectivity issues which has plagued a number of Nexus One phones in the US.

Here’s a video courtesy of Engadget of an updated Nexus One live in action:

You should receive a message on your phone’s notification bar when the update is ready for your phone to download. You can read Google’s full announcement about this new update for the Nexus One here. If everything goes according to plan, Wind Mobile might be the one to release the Nexus One in Canada.

As a WIND Mobile employee, I’ve been following the Google Nexus One and am more than thrilled to possibly be offering this device to the Canadian public with our amazing Unlimited Always Shout and Unlimited Data Plans!

Here’s to a new wireless experience in Canada with (hopefully!!) WIND Mobile and the Google Nexus One!

    *cheers*
