Someone from up above must have been listening to our prayers as we’ve just got confirmation that the MOTOROI aka Motorola Sholes Tablet will indeed be coming to the North American region. Actually, based on what the Korean Herald reports, it’s only the US that was specifically mentioned. Nonetheless, we’re now more optimistic than it’ll eventually be released in Canada as well.
Bae Joong-dong, senior vice president of SK Telecom, disclosed in a press conference that the MOTOROI (Motorola XT720) will be launched in the US this coming March. It will also be released in other countries later this year though he didn’t go as far as to say which particular markets will be fortunate enough to be getting this QWERTY-less twin of the Droid.
The MOTOROI might not be the ideal device for QWERTY lovers, but it does boast of a more powerful 8-megapixel camera complete with 720p HD video recording and an HDMI slot which both Verizon’s Motorola Droid and Telus’ upcoming Motorola Milestone don’t have. We’ll probably be hearing an official announcement from Motorola in the coming weeks or at next month’s MWC event in Barcelona.
