D-Link is a already a familiar name in the router biz, and with their latest product, the DIR-457, their now also venturing into the mobile 3G router scene as well.

Also known as the myPocket, this compact 3G router works similar to the Novatel MiFi 2372 Mobile Hotspot that’s currently available on Bell. It also comes with max 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, but ups the ante by allowing up to 16 devices to connect to it via WiFi. You can hook it up to a wall socket to recharge or simply plug it to the USB port of your laptop to replenish its juices while on the go. Standby battery life is rated to last for 4 hours. It supports quad-band GSM/EDGE connectivity and has just been approved by the FCC complete with 850 and 1900Mhz bands making it an ideal device for use both in and outside the US.
The D-Link myPocket is expected to become available in the second quarter and retail for $256.
