Motorola has finally made official one of their most intriguing phone to date, the Backflip. This back-flipping phone has been leaked several times already albeit coming with different names (Enzo and Motus).

Motorola Backflip with MotoBLUR

The Motorola Backflip boasts of a 3.1-inch HVGA touchscreen, full QWERTY keypad, 5-megapixel camera and flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, Android 1.5 as its OS, and comes loaded with MotoBLUR. They didn’t go into specifics as to which carrier will offer up this baby in the US, but based on all the previous reports we’ve had, we know that AT&T’s got this Android phone in the bag. You can find out more about the Backflip by checking it out here.

The obvious turn-off here is the outdated version of Android, but Motorola promises us that all of their Android phones (Cliq and Droid), including this one, will be getting an Android 2.1 update soon. It’s scheduled to hit the North American market this first quarter alongside Latin America, Europe, and Asia though pricing is still yet to be known.
