It’s official. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 will be coming to Canada, and will exclusively be available on Rogers.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10

The XPERIA X10 is the first Sony Ericsson-made Android phone which boasts of a generously-sized 4-inch 480×854 resolution capacitive touchscreen, 8.1-megapixel AF camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack, and 1GB internal memory with a microSD card slot for additional storage. That’s all well and good, but what’s truly unique in this Android phone is the new UX interface and Mediascape and Timescape apps custom built by Sony Ericsson that’s debuting on this particular handset. You can read the entire press release here.

Rogers didn’t mention a specific launch date, but it is expected to hit the market sometime in the second quarter of 2010. Pricing of the XPERIA X10 is likewise still yet to be known. However, if you want to be kept in the loop as far as the latest updates are concerned regarding the XPERIA X10, you already can sign-up to be part of Rogers’ mailing list by heading on over here. Unless, of course, you’re one of those who are frustrated with Rogers’ inability to provide an Android 1.6 update for their current Android phones, then we understand you’re lack of enthusiasm for this latest announcement.
