Mobile FireFox Fennec RC1 now Available for Nokia N900

After more than a year of confirming that a mobile version of FireFox is forthcoming, Mozilla’s starting off 2010 on a good note by announcing that FireFox Mobile (codenamed as Fennec) is now finally out of alpha and beta stage and is ready for download.

Unfortunately, it’s only compatible with the Maemo-powered Nokia N900 phone and it’s still just an RC1 version, but hey, at least it’s now one step closer to reaching its final release version. Tabbed browsing, add-ons, and the ability to automatically import all the bookmarks, open tabs, and history stored on your PC straight to your mobile phone are just some of the cool features you can expect from this mobile version of FireFox.

If you have a Nokia N900 and want to give FireFox Mobile RC1 a try, you can download it over here. Hopefully, a similar or even better version will be made available for Windows Mobile-powered devices in the coming months.
