Fring Skype Video Calling now Available on select Symbian handsets

While Fring may be available for use on a variety of handsets, its features aren't the same on all phones and vary depending on the platform. One prime example of this is their new Fring/Skype video calling service. This is now available on the Symbian S60 platform but only works on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, N97, N97 Mini, N95, N82, and the upcoming Nokia X6. More Symbian handsets will be supported in the near future and is also headed for other mobile operating systems as well. You can read more about this new service by heading on over here.

Here’s a video demo of how the new video calling feature works on a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone:

Just recently, Fring added the Android platform to its supported list of handsets. We don't have an exact figure as to how many people are now using Fring, but when this new feature rolls out to other phones, we're pretty certain that more people will be inclined to try this versatile multi-IM app out.
