With Telus and Bell now also offering the iPhone in Canada, Rogers is now differentiating themselves from the rest of the pack with the release of their own iPhone app.

Dubbed as the Rogers My Account and Fido My Account for Rogers and Fido subscribers respectively, this iPhone app allows subscribers to view their current usage (voice, data and messaging) as well as pay their outstanding balance through their iPhone. It’s available in both English and French but only works with iPhone OS 3.0 or later and does not support Corporate and Prepaid accounts.

Both apps are free to download from the App Store. Click here to download the Rogers My Account or head on over here if you’re on Fido. We’re not sure if this is enough to lure back disgruntled former Rogers/Fido clients back to the Canadian carrier who first introduced the iPhone in Canada, but I’m sure those who are still currently on Rogers/Fido will certainly appreciate this new service they’ve launched for their iPhone subscribers.

Tim says:
Pageonce already has an app available to do this with Rogers which I have been using for a while now it’s a free app and does all the things the Rogers app does
GusF says:
Let’s hope they don’t charge you to use the data on this. This won’t work if you are connected to wifi and have to disable it for it to work.
Jake says:
Customer service is uniformly attrocious with all four carriers. Fido costs less. Ergo, Fido gets my business, app or not.
