Supporting the figures released by Clicky, the Admob metrics, as of November 18th, shows the Motorola Droid is clearly one of the hottest items in the Android scene.

The HTC Dream, being the first and only Android phone available in the market for quite a while, is understandably still the dominant Android handset with a strong 36% market share. What’s impressive though is that the Motorola Droid (24%) has managed to overtake the HTC Magic (21%) even though it’s just been released a couple of weeks ago. Their other Android handset, the Motorola Cliq, is at 5th place with 6% market share behind the 5% of the HTC Hero.

Motorola has certainly done something right with the Droid (better known as the Telus-bound Motorola Milestone in Canada) to merit such impressive sales. Let’s just hope that the Droid isn’t just an anomaly and that this is indeed the start of something big for Motorola.
