The issue regarding Samsung and the Symbian Foundation has just taken a 180-degree turn as MobileBurn has gotten an official statement from the renowned Korean phone maker contradicting previous reports that they’re ditching the said OS.

Here’s what Samsung had to say about the ongoing controversy:
Samsung is an initial member of Symbian Foundation and continues to cooperate with Symbian Foundation. At the same time, Samsung supports various existing open operating systems including Symbian, Linux, Android, and Windows Mobile. To provide more choices to meet consumers’ many different tastes and preferences, we will continue our ‘multi-OS’ strategy. Our policy is to provide what consumers want when they need.
Apparently, the Digitimes report isn’t that accurate as they disclose that they have no plans of dropping Symbian from their ‘multi-OS’ game plan. Samsung Bada phones won’t replace Symbian devices, but will co-exist with it.
Of course, this isn’t a guarantee that it will still be the same scenario two years from now in 2011, but as far as the immediate future is concerned, the Symbian Foundation will continue to have Samsung as their ally. In turn, we can now finally lay this issue to rest.
