Sony Ericsson Canada lists XPERIA Pureness as ‘coming soon’

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Pureness is quite a unique phone, but we’ll admit, it doesn’t rank high in our priority list. It neither comes with a camera, WiFi, nor a colored display. The 1.8-inch transparent scratch-resistant display is a nice touch, but in this day and age, we’re looking for more than just aesthetics in a phone.

Nonetheless, we’re pretty sure some of you out there are still impressed by this new offering of Sony Ericsson. After all, it still comes with Bluetooth connectivity with A2DP support, quad-band GSM/GPRS, 2100MHz HSPA connectivity, Exchange ActiveSync support, MP3/AAC music playback with Album Art browsing capabilities, and Access NetFront web browser. They’re even providing a Pureness Concierge and dedicated XPERIA Services team which will provide you with a replacement phone if and when it breaks down. The Pureness is definitely not in the same league as its other XPERIA siblings (X1 and X10), but to make up for whatever it lacks in terms of features, they’re bundling it with extra services so that you won’t regret getting it.

The XPERIA Pureness is now listed in Sony Ericsson Canada’s website which is as good a sign as any that its release is forthcoming. They’re billing it as “an indispensable classic with transparent screen, setting a new standard for functionalism and beauty.” We’re not fully in agreement with the functionalism part, but the Pureness does provide us with a new alternative from the standard fare. It is currently listed as “coming soon“.
