The iPhone Dev Team, Geohot, and other similar groups have had a field day jailbreaking one iPhone firmware release after another largely thanks to Apple’s inaction to address the 24kpwn exploit in its bootrom.

However, those days now appear to be over as Apple has pulled a fast one on the group by shipping new iPhone 3G S units loaded with a completely new bootrom. Confirmed by Dev Team member MuscleNerd, iBoot-359.3.2 is the new bootrom that is resistant to any of the jailbreaks available at this time including the recently released blackra1n jailbreak. Of course, this doesn’t mean there won’t be an appropriate jailbreak released down the road. In fact, we’re pretty sure they’re already hard at work trying to crack this baby wide open as we speak.
Nevertheless, this surely won’t bold well for those unfortunate jailbreakers out there who unwittingly picked one of these babies up from the store.
