As a follow up to their first Android phone, the HTC Hero, Sprint has just announced the Samsung Moment.

Previously referred to as the Samsung InstinctQ, this QWERTY-equipped slider packs a gorgeous 3.2-inch AMOLED touschscreen display, 3.2-megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, EV-DO Rev. A connectivity, and runs on a speedy 800MHz processor. It also features visual voicemail, microSD card slot that supports up to 32GB in capacity, and quick access to social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Flickr. However, unlike T-Mobile’s recently announced Samsung Behold II Android phone, the Moment won’t come loaded with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI. You can read the full press release here.
Sprint will be releasing the Samsung Moment on November 1st for $179.99 after a $50 instant savings and a $100 mail-in-rebate is applied on a 2-year contract deal. If anything, this definitely proves that Samsung is on-board the Android bandwagon.
