After unceremoniously being leaked on the internet yesterday, Verizon decided to forgo anymore delays and has decided to formally announce the HTC Imagio already.
Verizon’s first Windows Mobile 6.5-powered phone will be available online as early as October 6th. It will be available through regular retail channels on October 20th. Previously referred to as the Whitestone, this 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen equipped 5-megapixel autofocus camera phone will be available for as little as $199.99 on a 2-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate takes effect. Not bad, don’t you think? Apart from mentioned specs, you also get WiFi, quad-band EDGE/GSM, HSPA 2100, EV-DO Rev. A connectivity as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack, TouchFLO 3D, VCast MobileTV support, and a reliable 1500mAh battery.
It may not boast of a Snapdragon processor like the HTC Leo or a 12-megapixel camera like the Samsung AMOLED 12M, but the HTC Imagio is pretty decent across the board and deserves to be checked out especially at its price point.
