TiVo for BlackBerry smartphones now Available

After a year of announcing their partnership, RIM and TiVo has finally delivered on their promise to release a TiVo app for BlackBerry phones.

They’ve made it pretty clear from the get go that it won’t allow you to watch videos on your phone so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the TiVo for BlackBerry app is limited to viewing TV schedules and remote scheduling of your TiVo rig at home. However, given that they’ve spent a whole year developing this, we were expecting something a little bit more than what they’re offering right now.

Anyway, for those of you who own a TiVo at home and a BlackBerry phone, this is still better than nothing and should be a handy app to have around especially if you spend most of your time on the road. You can download it from the BlackBerry App World or from here, and is completely free of charge.
