Will the next iPhone have a thinner display?

According to the Wall Street Journal, the next iPhone will have a new LCD display that uses in-cell touchscreen technology. This simply means that the touch sensors are already integrated into the display itself thereby making it thinner and more sensitive to touch. With a thinner display, Apple could either make the next iPhone a lot slimmer or it could opt to squeeze in more components in the chassis such as a bigger battery.

What You Need To Know:

- With in-cell touchscreen technology, the display of the next iPhone could be half a millimeter thinner than conventional LCD displays.

- Sharp and Japan Display have reportedly started the mass production of the said displays for use in the next iPhone.

- According to rumors, the next iPhone will be unveiled either in September or October.
