Motorola RAZR i now official with 2GHz Intel Atom processor

The phone is one of the first Android devices to feature Intel's new chipset, and only the second we'll actually be able to buy, following the Orange San Diego.

The Motorola RAZR i will be available from the beginning of October, on Orange, T-Mobile, Phones4U, Virgin Media and Tesco.

Of course, the real star here can’t easily be discerned just by poking around the outside. Intel’s single-core Medfield chipset (specifically the Atom Z2480) runs the show here and its clock speed tops out at a whopping 2GHz, though what that actually means in terms of performance remains to be seen.

Motorola said it will ship the RAZR i in various European and South American markets starting in October.

It's essentially the RAZR M that was announced earlier this month, but with an Intel chip instead of a Qualcomm chip.
