HTC One Google Edition to Have Limited Run
Pocket-lint

HTC is reportedly releasing a version of the One flagship without HTC's Sense interface but the device will be available in very limited quantities. The HTC One Google Edition will offer a pure Google experience with a stock Android operating system and minus HTC's Sense UI. Although HTC has not confirmed the device, Pocket-lint claims that about 50,000 units will be released. HTC apparently has decided to release a vanilla Android version of its flagship after top Android vendor Samsung announced Galaxy S4 Google Edition.

What Else You Need To Know

  • HTC has sold about 5 million units of the HTC One since launch in March despite delayed roll-outs due to production issues with the ultrapixel camera components.
  • The HTC One features a 4-MP "ultrapixel" camera that gathers 300 percent more light, a Qualcomm quad-core Snapdragon 600 clocked at 1.7GHz, and a Sense 5.0 interface over the Android 4.1 operating system.
  • At the Google I/O event, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S4 Google Edition, which will be available in the U.S. starting June 26 for $649.
