Samsung announced that three new tablets to its Tab 3 series will arrive in the U.S. on July 7th. The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, 8.0 and 10.1, are priced at $199, $299 and $399, respectively, at major retailers, including Best Buy, Fry’s and Amazon. The 10.1-inch model is the first Android tablet from Samsung to feature an Intel processor. The 8-inch model is $30 cheaper than the iPad mini and fatures a multi-window feature that lets two apps run side by side. The 7-inch model is the most affordable Samsung tablet and the device features dual cameras and remote control functionality. Samsung designed all three Galaxy Tab 3s to look like the flagship Galaxy S4 handsets.

What Else You Need To Know

  • Targeted to compete with the $199 Nexus 7, the Tab 3 7.0 doesn't have the Nexus' high resolution 1280 x 800 HD screen (just a 1024 x 600 for Samsung device) and a faster quad-core processor (only dual-core for the Samsung slate).
  • Samsung is offering hundreds of dollars worth of freebies, including $10 for Google Play, one year free Boingo hotspot service, three months free Hulu Plus service and 2 years free storage (50GB) on DropBox.
