The Acer Iconia W700 is not a bad product, but it makes more promises than it keeps. It's neither a great tablet, nor a great laptop replacement as its battery life is too short and the supplied accessories too cumbersome. The only genuine bright spot is the screen, but it's not enough on its own to convince us.

It’s trully a great ultrabook replacement and you’ll probably never need a laptop again. It does have its disadvantages, like the huge size, but at least we’ve got a Full HD screen and top notch CPU.

The Acer Iconia W510 is a good-looking tablet with a securely fastening dock on the accompanying keyboard that gives you instant laptop capability. It has a good array of ports and full-fat Windows 8 but it's let down badly by its underpowered processor which just about copes with light tablet duties, but struggles severely when it has to deal with standard laptop drills.

The Acer Iconia A210 is one of the best budget 10-inch tablets available. If it wasn't for the very average battery life, we'd be having a major fling with the A210 because it has both flexibility and an Acer-made polish to its user interface that we really enjoyed using.

Granted, it's all about functionality and value, not flashy features and design. It's almost a third thicker than the iPad, though uses that girth well; the inclusion of a USB 2.0 slot makes casual file-swapping easy while also allowing keyboards to be wired-up.

The bottom line is that as a PC, it still feels like a slow and limited netbook, and considering its $650 price tag that's just too much of a compromise. With that kind of budget you're likely better off getting a better notebook or better tablet. Or, if you can spring the extra $250-$350, the Core i5 equipped Surface Pro will run Windows 8 without the slowdowns.

It’s the first time we’re seeing a Windows 8 tablet selling for the price of a mainstream laptop or the iPad 4. Of course, the iPad is more intuitive and fluid, not to mention the awesome Retina display. But if you’re specifically looking for a Windows 8 device without having to break the bank, the Iconia W510 is for you.

Overall the W700 is a great device, once you get past the rather odd dock and kickstand combo and use the nice leather case instead you’ll be happy. It is a powerful device that comes in a variety of specs, there is a model with just the tablet, the leather case and an integrated keyboard, there is also a Intel Core i5 128GB model as well. Offered a Microsoft Surface RT or the Iconia W700 I would go for the W700 as it is more functional, although if I had to move around a lot or take it on the road I’d think twice. If you’re looking for a Windows 8 tablet and you don’t fancy the Microsoft offerings then Acer certainly have a wide range of Windows 8 devices to choose from, if only this tablet was a bit thinner, a bit lighter and dare I say it possibly running Windows RT.

The detachable-screen hybrid Windows 8 laptop feels like a check box that nearly every PC maker needs to hit for 2013. None of the variations on this theme is as elegant as the best clamshell or convertible laptops, and some of the prices we've seen will be hard for consumers to swallow. That said, the Iconia W510 works well as a standalone tablet and has a very enviable battery life, but it is hampered by a high price, clunky keyboard and too many micro-style ports.

I have had the phone now for 6 days and my battery wont charge, Although the light flashes and shows that its charging i have been charging it for almost 2 days and when i check to see what % its at still remains at 20%, I hope its my charger and not the phone but i dont think it is. Also its very slow at down loading and my home screen freezes alot making it hard to make that urgent phone call. Does any one else have these problems or did I just get the dud of the bunch?

Didn't realise soon enough that this phone had so many problems, now i'm stuck with it for a couple years.
Already waiting for a replacement but would rather get a different phone alltogether.
Phone is sleek and looks great but keeps power off and rebooting clearing all entered data. what a pain.

I was very disappointed by this phone. The battery life does not last longer than a day or two at best. I followed the instruction to learn more about how to use the phone and the only instruction it gave was how to use the key pad. While I am speaking on the phone, it keeps dropping signal or then switch to some screen where I have no idea how to get back to the screen I was on for dialing and goes automatically onto mute mode. So I can hear the other person talking, but the other person can not hear me at all.

I really need to be able to have skype on my phone! Hope I'll one day be able to download it. The phone is tough and no manuel found!
