We now have another choice in the market and competition will be good for the industry. I believe Wind will be a victim of great expectations and they will not be able to live up to them initially. With over $1 billion invested – they have to make money and repay their debts and obligations.  So while “saviours” of the wireless industry branding may be a ball and chain – let’s give them an opportunity to execute and grow.

Wind Mobile encourages deceiving the customer rather than admit problems - from the first sales rep I met to the second line tech support to the supervisor, I was told and promised information and feedback that was nothing more than a lie. The first Wind staffer told me there were better plans than the one I wanted but when pressed could not come up with anything and refused to help me, second level tech who lied when he said my card would be activated by days end for sure, the supervisor who promised a call back in two hours, the condescending supervisor who assured me that a store would look after me when clearly they could not.

-15$ for a sim card (already have a different cell plan), need a special wind sim card.
-35$ (approx.) for a data stick.
-Try the 15$ a month (1g) plan - useless! lasted a couple days.
- Then you're up to the unlimited, which is 35$ a month, nothing amazing.
-On top of that, you only have a signal for your laptop, not your whole house, or for your roomies.... not cool at all.

thought it was a great deal for $40 a month unlimited. I was totally wrong

1. UNUSABLE data is beyond terrible - you can download (sometimes), but god forbid you want to use maps, or play any game, or send an email. you know all the things you want a smart phone for. i tested the upload a 47 kbps (rogers is 23,000 kbps for comparison).

2. Customer service is.....I'm not even sure they have a customer service department actually. It seems there entire business model is luring people in with cheap prices (much like a thief would when offering stolen goods) and then when your phone doesn't work, or you were miss-informed by numerous sales reps, good luck. and guess what your AWS band phone you bought to use with them, only works with them. so your stuck with them. Surprise!......

3. Store wait times: I've waited 30 minutes to pay my bill or buy a micro sim card (which btw they only sell at ONE location) ask for one anywhere else and they have "limited supplies". I hope you live close to that ONE location (queen and spadina) and have an hour to spare to wait for one of two employees handling the line up of people waiting to complain.

4. save yourself the headache and trouble and go with Rogers. I hate rogers for their price gouging, and piss poor business practices. But at the end of the day, I need and want my phone to work. and honestly even its double the price at rogers, or works 4 times as much as wind.

5. Wind still might be for you if:
-you don't mind dropping 3 out of every 5 calls.
-don't care about data actually being usable, or only intend on using your homes WiFi.
-don't care about smart phone features like maps and email on the road.
-don't expect anyone to give a dam or listen to your complaints.
-don't expect the sales reps to be truthful about coverage and issues.
-don't mind frustration
-don't mind investing in a new phone to use on a non-usable network.

I signed up for Wind a few years ago and got a great plan 40 bucks for unlimited data and unlimited long distance to Canada and the USA. I would expect a similar package with any large Canadian carrier to be well over 100 bucks a month. Their prices are unheard of in Canada and competition from Wind and other independent carriers are the only reason Rogers Telus and Bell are offering anything affordable in the way of plans these days. Reception can be spotty some suburban areas of Vancouver but here downtown I don't have any complaints. Customer service at wind locations near me has always been good and as good as any other if not better. If you want the fastest LTE and a giant national network go with one of the big 3. As for me ill use the savings to buy myself some nice duds for the summer. Booya!

If you are considering WIND, don't. Seriously, you will regret it. Never have I had worse customer service in any company whatsoever. I have had problems with my phone since I got it a year ago. I'd never had a Smartphone before and I thought the problems I was having were normal, but no. They aren't. It only got worse.

And since I got my phone at a booth, I was told to a location far from where I live to get it fixed. Did it end there? No. I went and told them the problems I was having and they told me they have a protocol to first reset your phone. And then replace sim cards. And then repeat number one and two until your manufacturer's warranty expires basically.

Resetting the phone did not work. It did nothing and same problem persisted. I went again and was told to "prove" my phone was having difficulties, which I did. Then, since I didn't have a credit card on me, I was told they couldn't do anything to send it off -- EVEN THOUGH I WAS STILL COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

So I thought, fine, I will wait until my final exams and then get it fixed. But lo and behold, I go, and again am asked to prove my phone isn't working in the most condescending manner I have ever been spoken to. And then when the cretin of a manager shows up he tells me with a smirk on his face that my warranty is up. By 6 days. And promptly tells me that there's "nothing he can do!" and smugly wishes me a good day.

So now, after visiting them countless of times and trying to get my phone fixed I am left with a tab for that shitty phone that won't work. I have called in numerous times and explained myself, followed with a monotonous "I understand" -- only to be told there's nothing they can do.

Useless company. If you want customer service of any sort, go anywhere. Really, ANYWHERE. I've been at many different companies and they're all BEYOND SUPERIOR to this one. BUYER BEWARE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Also, if you want reception you're out of luck.

I was with Fido, Bell and Rogers before trying Wind out. And it was the worst decision I've made. not only was the service horrible (drop calls and blackout areas), the customer service was non existant. I called technical support multiple times and they would promise to get back to you within 48 hrs. I called 3 times in a week and received 0 calls backs from technical support. I just recently went back to FIDO. I paid the cancellation fee of over $400. end of the day, I value SERVICE & TIME. and if you value these never switch to WIND. the sales reps at the kiosks are as bad as the technical support team. NON EXISTANT.

Winds good have no issues service is a little sketchy some places but overall great. Unlimited everything for thirty dollars can't go wrong.

I bought a Samsung Note II and the sim card reader broke in just 3 months of purchasing it. Its funny because I take really good care of my phone. Since the sim card reader was broken I was unable to make phone calls or send text messages. When I brought it to Wind they sent my phone to a head office. 3 weeks after receiving no phone call about my phone I went in person to see what was happening. They gave my phone back to me without fixing it and told me it was "rooted." I never rooted my phone at all (I have no idea what that is). They also told me I could probably fix it at Wal-Mart, which is ridiculous because they are the ones responsible of fixing it. I called customer service and they told me to go to another location and that they will take care of me. So I did. This being the 3rd store I went to again I was sent back home with my broken phone. They said they couldn't fix it. After I went to Wal-Mart and they fixed it. They also told me that it was a problem in the sim-card reader and that it was not rooted. I'm very upset with Wind's service. Plus this phone does not have signal in certain areas. If you are considering Wind please reconsider.

I decided to go for Wind because the payments look alright, and those do in their website, but once you go to the store and get the plan, lots of bad surprises come into your bills. Staff in the store hasn't been trained and the phone client service is really poor. I wasted my time and energy trying to clarify what I was explained at the WIND store in Calgary to their ''suppose'' client service on the phone. I'd say, do not make the same mistake I and many others did, stay away as possible from WIND. Other phone companies are bad, yes, but WIND is simply terrible.

Upgraded to a more expensive plan and suddenly lost my signup credit. So whatever you do, never upgrade your plan with Wind

Very "spotty" performance locally. Roaming problems. Could not arrange overseas connectivity. Poor response to queries.
