The data plans Rogers offers for LTE are outrageously expensive

After using an LTE Rocket Stick, there is little to doubt the network’s speed. Regardless of whether I was at home, in a car or at a coffee shop somewhere, the speed was relatively consistent across the board. This usually amounted to between 33-35Mbps download speed, and just under 7Mbps for uploads. Those numbers are a pretty accurate reflection of what Rogers suggested would be the norm, which was between 12-25Mbps for downloads. I use the word ‘accurate’ here because the network has yet to be congested with a larger number of users. Once LTE hits some sort of critical mass, the speeds could lower to the levels Rogers proposed. When hitting areas that aren’t LTE-ready yet, the connection seamlessly drops down to 3G HSPA, so you don’t lose access. It can even go down to EDGE, if necessary.

Expensive, staff incredibly incompetent

Very little data, extremely expensive. Took us several tries to get a lost phone cancelled as they persisted in cancelling the wrong phone - staff seem unable to comprehend basic requests

Any issue I ever raised with Rogers has been resolved to my complete satisfaction. Most major issues cannot be resolved by regular customer service personnel. If you have an issue that is not resolved after repeated attempts to do so through regular customer service channels, I advise you to call head office in Toronto and ask to speak to someone regarding customer satisfaction. They have a special dept. for that. You should be well prepared: have all your information organized and don't waste that person's time. Above all be polite and articulate, or you will just be wasting your time. These people are highly paid and have the power to resolve any issue you may have...don't make their job difficult ...your problem is not their fault. Make it easy for them to help you. I had major problems with my contract not being honored by Rogers, and all issues were completely resolved to my satisfaction. Towards the end of the conversation, I asked the agent if I could mention one other issue that really irked me. The agent said of course. Rogers used to charge interest on late payments by the month, which is rarely seen. As an example every credit card I have ever used, has a policy of charging interest daily. So if you are late making your payment by a day or two, you are only charged overdue interest for that period of time, rather than paying a full month's interest per Rogers' policy. 2 months later Rogers changed their policy. In my experience, I find Rogers to be more responsive to their customers than 95% of all other companies that I have dealt with.

They have one of the poorest customers services I have even encountered.

I have been with Rogers for 7 years, I have always bought my own Iphone, the My rogers NEVER works and when you try to call them, it can be an hour before somebody answers....then you get transfer more than once because more often than not they just simply do not have any answers for you.

I am sharing for several reasons. 1 - this month's statement arrived today, 17 days after the cycle closed 2 - when I questioned the lack of statement I received multiple excuses/reasons including my profile needed to be updated as it was the cause yet I had not experienced difficulty in the past. Finally a 'manager' informed me they were having issues with statement production. Shouldn't front line staff be aware of this, rhetorical. Nice job of ongoing education! 3 - we started exploring getting a new phone for one of our mobile lines and was told that we MUST update our Plan to an "in-market" Plan - read more expensive Plan. We started this 2 year agreement getting one phone from Rogers and bringing one of our own and there was no discount for bringing a phone and they subsidized the new phone and now the rules and cost MUST change? What on earth are they up to? Land customers without disclosing that the Plan will not continue as we all know that phones have a limited life span, approx. 2 years-ish, which ultimately forces consumers into more expensive Plans. 4 - We also have cable and internet with Rogers and the functionality to view data usage on their site does not work. When we try and view it says that we need to register an account? What about the one that we have already done so and are logged into while trying to use their site?? Again, what on earth?
