PROS:
- Cheap plans. (I pay $25 a month for my plan listed below.)

CONS:
- The TAB is still a CONTRACT (see below)
- Unreliable Text Messaging Service (not frequent)
- Horrible Customer Service

I have been with Koodo for about a year and their service has been decent. I'm not sure where those other reviewers reside saying that they don't get decent coverage. If you live in the GTA (where I live) you'll get coverage EVERYWHERE you go.

The plans are super cheap and I LOVE being able to change my plan anytime I want, check my balance, remaining minutes etc. all online.

I do have to admit sometime during the month of September to October 2009 that their text messaging service was having some major issues. The problem was my phone would say that my text messages were not able to be sent. (Although sometimes when it said that, it actually DID get sent and thus my friends would often get repeated text messages from me.) I haven't had any issues where using the actual phone service though.

They do have a BASIC selection of phones (10 so far) but thats why the plans are so cheap. Also keep in mind that there is no SIM card and thus you have to stick with a Koodo phone.

Koodo is for the customer who just wants PHONE SERVICE and none of those extra features (games included) bundled with our phones compared to other carriers.

all for $25 per month.

The Tab is the Koodo version of CONTRACT. When you select a phone, you can get the phone for it's price minus a "tab". The maximum price for a tab is $150 so if you buy a $200 phone you can purchase it for $50. During your stay with Koodo %10 of your monthly bill will be credited to your tab so for example if you pay $30 a month $3 will be added to paying BACK the tab. If you do the math to pay back a tab of $150 will take 4.2 years. If you choose to leave before the 4.2 years is over, then you pay the remainder. However if you pay off your tab, 10% of your bill will still be credited to your tab to pay for a new phone in the future. :)

Overall, Koodo is GREAT for providing stripped-down BASIC PHONE service. (i.e. just for phone calls, nothing more.)
