Looking to file a Class Action Lawsuit against Rogers if anyone is interested

We have been a Rogers customer for about 10 years and at the end all we got out of it is lies and deception.

Rogers will tell you anything over the phone to shut you up and then turns around the next month and says sorry they made a mistake what they offered is not possible.

We were sick of paying so much for our plans so we decided to call and cancel our plans. When we did, they offered us an amazing deal if we agree to renew our contracts for another 3 years.

However, when we received the invoice we realized that they charged us almost double the amount they offered the first time. When we called, they told us that the plan they offered is impossible and that they cannot do anything to help us. We explained that the first time we called is considered a legal verbal agreement and they cannot simply go back and change their minds.

They would never let one of their clients change their minds on a contract without a penalty but they can do whatever they want. They lied just so that they get us to renew the contracts and then screwed us.

The actually said that even if they give us credits on our account, eventually after a couple of months, the finance department will notice that they are giving too many credits to a client and then cancel them. So even if you call them and they offer you something good, you can never trust it because they can always go back on it.

This is not the first time that Rogers screwed us and we had enough. We saw on several websites many similar complaints.

We think enough is enough, someone has to stop this abuse. If a client does not pay his bill, rogers will go through the credit bureau and ruin the person's credit. However, when they decide not to deliver on the services they promise, the consumer has no protection. All we can do is complain but it goes no where. They have to pay for all the wrong they have done. They have to understand that what they are doing is illegal and they cannot keep treating clients like this.

Obviously to sue them we need a lawyer and Rogers will have many lawyers. An individual suing will not get very far. However, if many people with similar cases get together and file a Class Action lawsuit, we have a chance at winning.

Anyone interested?

  • I wrote to rogers president regarding their 1000 minutes per month. When I called rogers to check on how many minutes I had left, they told me they could not tell me anything and that I should count the minutes myself. I escalated my complaint to a higher rogers official who was able to determine the approximate number of minutes I had used up. I wrote a letter to Mr. Nadir Mohamed (President) on August 21, 2010 and never did get a response to it. I cannot understand how they can offer a service but then not be able to help you with your total minutes. Of course they want you to go over so you will end up paying large amounts more to them. I have been a customer since 1986 and found that instead of alleviating my frustrations they only compounded them by providing me with objectively incorrect information. I am still waiting to get a response from them. (Feb.14, 2011).
