Boost Mobile is a California-based mobile phone service that primarily targets the youth market. Formed and launched in Australia in 2001, Boost Mobile was purchased by Sprint in late 2004.
Boost Mobile offers aggressive calling plans, including its Unlimited Service, which offers unlimited calling from $50 to $70 per month. Usage is generally limited to the local calling region and roaming charges apply outside those areas.
In 2009 Boost Mobile announced its Nationwide Unlimited plan, aggressively-priced at $50.00 per month. Running on the Sprint Nextel iDEN network, this plan offers a complete suite of services to customers, including calling, text, web and walkie-talkie Services. Boost Mobile’s calling plans fall into both CDMA and iDEN formats, depending on the calling plan selected.
Boost Mobile’s business model strongly focuses on an all-in-one, no-hassle, no-hidden-cost calling plan that is easy to understand and priced less than larger competitors.
