The Sanyo Katana Eclipse is the fifth in the Katana franchise and holds its own quite well.
This CDMA clamshell has a modern, glossy look and feel and comes with a mid-range feature set sure to please the casual user and pernicious alike.
Measuring only 3.6 x 1.9 x 0.7 inches and weighing just 3.4 ounces, the Eclipse is small, but small in a good way, not cramped or difficult to use.
The main display is a 2 inch, 176 x 220 pixel screen capable of reproducing the now standard 65K colors. The secondary, external display measures 1 inch and has a 96 x 96 resolution and can be used for GPS navigation. The Eclipse is rated at 4.6 hours of talk time.
The phone also has a 1.3MP camera, stereo Bluetooth 2.0 and internet access via a WAP 2.0 browser.
Also included is a 500 name capacity, customizable phone book, alarm, calendar, calculator, stopwatch and the ever present World Clock. There are voice command controls for dialing, recording and speakerphone.
The Eclipse has a unique look and a useful feature set and should please flip phone fans.
