Husband bought the Eclipse. The style and lights and other functions were a sure sale. He started having problems two weeks after he bought it. Took it back to Sprint and they did not want to replace it. Phone continually disconnects from earpiece. Sometimes it locks up when ever around water, like rivers, or lakes. Would lock up when ever he was around a Wal-Mart store. Now it locks up when ever it feels like it.
Sprint finally took it back, just before our 30 days was up. Had the same problem with the replacement, and this was on the second day. Took it back Sprint and they checked the phone at their repair station and one of the reps flat said, "I don't know what's wrong and we can't fix it." Was given another phone, same thing happened. Sprint even blamed it on the 'Jawbone' earpiece. Exchanged it again (for same phone), and I was told I would not be able to get another replacement.
Phone is still doing the same thing. Now Sprint says they cannot exchange phone, because it is over 30 days from last time phone was replaced. Come to find out from one of the sales reps, right after we got the last replacement, all Katana's were, PULLED! Can you believe that? Sprint told my husband he had to contact Sanyo because Sprint could not do anything.
Called Sanyo who says we can send the phone to them for 3-6 weeks and if they could not duplicate the problem, they will just send it back. Some Customer Service! Swindle people by selling defective phones, knowing they are defective, and do not want to replace or give a refund.
So where we stand now is, we can send the phone back and wait to see if they can determine what the problem is and repair it, and if they can't repair it, we just have to live with it. Sounds like a rip off to me, by Sprint who knows these problems exits and still sale to consumers, and Sanyo who knows the problems exits but figures they got another sucker to buy their defective products.
My advice to people considering buying this phone, “DON’T”! It is not worth the drama dealing with Sanyo or SPRINT!
