The Samsung Intensity III is a basic, CDMA smartphone that you should be able to reliably depend on for all your mobile messaging needs. It runs on Qualcomm’s Brew Mobile platform and features a speedy 480MHz mobile processor, 128MB of RAM, and 256MB of ROM. It comes in the slider form factor and houses a full QWERTY keyboard that can be accessed with a simple flicking motion on its side. And when you don’t need to type out extra long messages, the built-in alphanumeric keypad right below the 2.4-inchQVGA screen should work just fine.
Despite appearances, the Samsung Intensity III is actually quite feature-packed. Beneath its rugged exterior lies niceties such as GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, e-mail support, and Web browsing capabilities. It even has a 2-megapixel camera with 9x digital zoom for when you need to take the occasional candid photo. Video recording is a feature as well, and files are saved as either MP4 or 3GP.
Those who need something more powerful and even more feature-rich than the Samsung Intensity III may want to look elsewhere. But if you’re a no-frills kind of person who just wants to get stuff done, then perhaps this simple Samsung can provide everything you need.
